Mickey Rast is a talented bass player, guitarist and vocalist. He is a member of The Rob Dickenson Band, The Brandywine Christmas Minstrels and Good Foot. Besides being a multi-instrumental musician, he is also a master mechanic and holds a Masters degree in anthropology. Mick is a native New Yorker who transplanted here in the 1980s.

In his early youth, he studied piano and theory at The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. At age 17, he was bitten by the rock and roll bug and began playing guitar. He joined his first band, Theus, in high school. Immediately, he saw the benefit of performing in the attention of young females and the free beer that flows without stop for band members.

Encouraged by the perks, Mick started playing coffee houses as soon as he entered college. After a brief stint with a country rock band, he joined Jackhammer. This band opened for The Ramones and played various North Jersey haunts and Manhattan clubs such as CBGB. After the break up of Jackhammer, he performed with Chuck Welch and Carlos Baez.

mickeyConsequent to moving to West Chester, PA, he started playing bass and formed the band, MI6. He soon became the bass player for Philadelphia favorite, VHF. They became one of the first bands to tour Russia and Romania after the fall of Communism in 1991. When VHF went the way of all bands, he became a hired gun for many area bands. Approximately, fifteen years ago he became a member of The Rob Dickenson Band and has remained a stalwart of the band. He is a seasoned performer and an inestimable asset to The Rob Dickenson Band, The Brandywine Christmas Minstrels and Good Foot.
